HKSAR Government Self-financing Post-Secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS)
     香港特別行政區政府自資專上獎學金計劃 (SPSS)


The Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS) aims to give recognition not only to students with outstanding academic performance, but also those with achievements and talents in other non-academic fields. The SPSS also aims to help attract outstanding local and non-local students to pursue studies in self-financing post-secondary programmes.


Who’s Eligible?

Students pursuing full-time locally accredited self-financing sub-degree or bachelor’s degree (including top-up degree) programme at Nang Yan College of Higher Education (NYC).


Types of Scholarships and Awards

Please read the SPSS Guidelines for details or visit the Government website before application.


How to submit Application?

If interested to apply, please read the Guidelines for Applicants 2023/24 before apply. Please submit the e-application form with supporting documents on or before the application deadlines as specified . Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

#Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.


Selection Mechanism

  1. An Independent Selection Panel (ISP) which consists of the Vice President (Administration), senior academic staff and staff of the Student Affairs Unit will be formed to consider the applications based on applicants’ merits and EDB’s selection criteria.
  2. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend selection interviews in mid December 2023.
  3. Priority will be given to those students who have not previously received any awards under the SPSS.
  4. The final nomination list recommended by the ISP will be submitted to EDB for decision.

Notification of Result and Payment Arrangement

  1. All applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will receive internal nomination results by e-mail before February 2024.
  2. Final Results will be announced by March 2024 and disbursement arrangements will be made via cheque payment.
  3. Successful applicants will be invited to attend the ceremony and share their stories on the College website.
