 SPSS Reaching Out Award (ROA)
- Guidelines to Applicants 2023/24
Objectives
The award aims at equipping students with an international vision, broadening their exposure to a multicultural environment and enhancing their communications skills in English, Putonghua or other languages.
Eligibility
- Students should participate in learning, internship or service programs that are mainly course or placement related as well as national, regional and international events and competitions that are conducted outside Hong Kong.
- The outreaching activities should either be organized or endorsed by the College and the activities should start from 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2025.
Criteria for Assessment
The assessment criteria are as follows:
Achieve reasonably good academic attainment
For first year students:
- the satisfactory academic result during secondary / post-secondary education, including public examinations, will be considered
For students at second year or above:
- achieve at least a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0.
Remarks
Students are required to submit a reflection report on the activities participated and the learning experiences and benefits acquired to the College within 1 month after returning H.K.

Academic transcript, itinerary with learning merits and leaflets of the study tours.
Scholarship Amount
Bachelor Degree Student and Higher Diploma Student
HK$10,000 for each student
Note: A student can only be awarded ROA once throughout his/her studies of the relevant programme.
